As September 2014 approaches the changes to Statements of Educational Need are becoming more and more relevant to all of us working in Education, Health and Care. Dr Sarah Temple has worked with West Midlands Autism and others to produce a training power point with a case example of a 3 year old boy called Rory who has developing additional needs. She uses his pathway through health and care into education as the back drop explaining how the new EHC (Education Health Care) Plan will enable professionals to keep the child and family at the heart of their thinking. Rory is diagnosed with autism soon after his 4th birthday. The Common Assessment Framework and One Page Profile completed in the year prior to his diagnosis being made and specialist health assessments  inform the EHC Plan written by the 0-25 SEN team.

Rory's pathway is described in the pdf attached below- please accept apologies for the fact that errors have appeared in a couple of slides when loading on line.
